Trisha G and Aayushi Shukla combined to put on a scintillating display for India to hand Bangladesh an eight-wicket humbling in the first match of the Super Fours in the ongoing U-19 Women’s Asia Cup tournament on Thursday, December 19 at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval in Kuala Lumpur. Chasing a very modest total, Trisha was at her ruthless best early on in the innings showcasing a lot of intent. 

However, she lost her opening partner in G Kamalini for nought, and India were in the slightest of troubles when they lost two in quick time. 

There was no looking back since, when skipper Niki Prasad (22 off 15) joined Trisha (58 off 45) as the duo remained unbeaten to take India home with 7.5 overs and eight wickets to spare with a match-winning partnership. 

Earlier on in the day, India won the toss and opted to field first. Bangladesh started off on a very good note, but crumbled along the way witnessing a major collapse. 

Aayushi picked up three wickets, while being well supported by Sonam Yadav who picked two. Shabnam Shakil and Mithila V picked up a wicket each.
