I really loved the first few minutes of Platinum Egoiste (I'm a sucker for petitgrain). After the top notes fade it's a cheap generic 90s fougere smell. Like Cool Water but less nuanced. Instead of Platinum Egoiste, I'd say go with Nautica Voyage or just Cool Water. They're both very inexpensive and more interesting than the Chanel.I've never layered Chanel's 80's baroque classic Coco with Bois des Iles but I have a feeling the two combined would be very close to Egoiste. The ingredient breakdown would suggest a strictly winter fragrance but as an EDT, I find this light enough to pull off even on hot summer days.
