The intense still has a decent performance, but I feel like that the older release are a bit stronger. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I do recommend to try Dior Homme Parfum. It used to be in a 75ml bottle but now it's 100ml. This one is very strong and lasts all day long. Let's say it's the intense version on steroids with added leather.
