MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested four people for alleged illegal gambling and possession of drugs and firearms in Pasay on Monday.
The suspects were identified only through their aliases as Andrew, 33; Ace, 26; Wantoy, 43, and Toto, 48.
Pasay police chief Brig. Gen. Manuel Abrugena said personnel of substation 7 were patrolling Barangay 179 in Maricaban when someone reported the suspects engaged in illegal gambling.
Police caught the suspects playing cara y cruz, a coin-flipping game.
Recovered from the suspects were three one-peso coins used in the game and P700 in bet money.
Charges for violation of the National Internal Revenue Code will be filed against the suspect, police said.
She graduated from the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1996 and has a distinguished career in law enforcement.
The suspects also yielded a loaded .38-caliber handgun and suspected shabu valued at P33,000.
The suspects are being held on charges of illegal gamblinglodibet, gun possession and violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
